St. Tammany and Jeff Parish burglaries may be connected

Jefferson Parish and St. Tammany authorities are searching for a woman they say is connected to several break-ins in both parishes.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office detectives report that three vehicles were broken into on the 800 block of Green Leaf Drive in Harvey on Dec. 4, 2014.

In each case, the burglar shattered the window and removed property, reports spokesperson for the JPSO, Glen T. Boyd.

Video surveillance of the crime shows a light-colored mini-van-- possibly a Chrysler Town and Country, or a Dodge Caravan-- driving near.

Detective Krek Kachtick said he later learned that someone used one of the victim’s bank information to cash several checks from the victim's account, Boyd continued.

The bank's surveillance footage revealed the suspect to be a female between 25 and 35 years of age and wearing white-colored medical scrubs with a colorful design, and driving a gray 2013 or 2014 Nissan Altima.

This same suspect has been spotted on surveillance after several burglaries in St. Tammany Parish, Boyd said.

Anyone with information or can help identity the suspect is asked to call Detective Kreg Kachtik at 504-364-5411. The public can also contact Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111, or toll-free at 877-903-7867.

Tips can also be texted to C-R-I-M-E-S (274637) by texting TELLCS, then the crime information.

Callers and texters do not have to give their name or testify, and could receive a $2,500 reward for information that leads to the indictment.
