HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women’s basketball team will look to “Pack the House” when it opens its 2018-19 home schedule versus Mobile at 6 p.m. Monday in the University Center.

In conjunction with the contest between the Lady Lions (0-1) and the visiting Rams (1-3), Southeastern Athletics Marketing and Student Promotions will offer the first 300 Southeastern students free food through the annual “Pack the House” promotion.

LionVision subscribers will be able to access a live video stream (no audio) of Monday’s game at Sydney Rivers and Lauren Bush will be Monday’s Spotlight Players of the Game. The first 125 fans will receive a trading card featuring the Lady Lion pair, courtesy of PRIDE.

Southeastern will be looking to bounce back from an 88-40 loss at Alabama in Wednesday’s season opener. The Lady Lions shot just 19.4 percent (13-for-67), while the host Crimson Tide countered with five players in double figures and finished with a 59-31 rebounding advantage.

Despite the loss, several Lady Lions had standout performances. In her Southeastern debut, guard Celica Sterling led Southeastern with 16 points off the bench, while forward Caitlyn Williams chipped in with a team-high eight rebounds.

Southeastern also forced Alabama to commit 19 turnovers in Wednesday’s opener. Guard Charliee Dugas led SLU with four of the team’s 11 steals.

Individual numbers are not available for Mobile, which comes in on a three-game losing streak. The Rams opened the season with an 87-55 home victory over Selma University, before traveling to Dillard for an 87-61 defeat.

Mobile spent the past weekend in New Orleans, competing in the MSC/SSAC Challenge. On Friday, the Rams were edged by Pikeville, 62-58, on Friday, before falling, 97-67, to Campbellsville on Saturday.

Southeastern is 11-1 all-time versus Mobile. The two teams last met during the 2016-17 season, as the Lady Lions took a 67-52 decision thanks to forcing the visiting Rams into 22 turnovers.

Southeastern is 33-11 in its history in home openers. The Lady Lions have won 19 of their last 21 home openers, though they did open their home schedule with an 84-77 overtime loss to Alcorn State in 2017-18.

Following Monday’s game, Southeastern will travel to Alcorn State for a 5:30 p.m. non-conference contest on Thursday in Lorman, Mississippi.
