St. Tammany Parish Emergency Operations Update – March 24, 2020
•Non-emergency intakes have been suspended at the Department of Animal Services as well as adoptions and fosters.
•The Tammany Trace remains open, however, Parish-owned and maintained public bathrooms along the Trace located at the Koop Drive, Slidell and Lacombe Trailheads, will be closed beginning Wednesday, March 25, 2020. Trace users are asked to respect social distancing, and remember dogs and motorized vehicles are prohibited on the Tammany Trace.
•Coastal Environmental Services has advised Parish officials they will notify their customers in St. Tammany Parish of a temporary suspension of curbside recycling pickup for the duration of the COVID-19 Emergency Declaration, beginning Monday, March 30, 2020. This is for the health and safety of their team members and to prioritize picking up garbage. Coastal Environmental Services states that all recyclables that are placed at the curb will be dumped with garbage. Residents can still collect and store recyclables at their residence until recycling services are resumed. However- if these items are stored in plastic bags, the items will need to be taken out of plastic bags once the recycling service resumes.
•The Kids Konnection Playground, Camp Salmen Nature Park, Northshore Beach, and the St. Tammany Fishing Pier are closed until further notice.
