Thomas Edward Call, Jr. died peacefully at home on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the age of 82.

He was born in New Orleans and he was a native of Algiers and a resident of Mandeville for many years. Mr. Call was a graduate of Martin Behrman High School in Algiers. Tom served in the Air National Guard for several years and retired from American Cyanamid/Cytech Industries, where he was employed for 44 years and retired as plant manager.

Tom or “Tommy” as he was called by his friends and family loved to fish. Prior to retiring, he designed and constructed, by himself, a camp in Pointe la Hache. He spent many days there fishing with friends and family, especially his brother-in-law, Billy Hughes.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Carolyn “Connie” Hildebrand Call and his son whom he was devoted to, Rodney Thomas Call. Tom is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Edward Call, Sr. and Aline Pollock Call and his precious son, Jeffrey Call.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 W. Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA 70471 on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM with visitation at church on Thursday beginning at 10:00 AM.

Interment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Call to be made to the charity of your choice.
