Milton Edward Carpenter, 91, passed away peacefully on Dec. 20, 2014 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Denham Springs, LA.

He loved music and as a young man he and friends formed a band called The Coon Creek Ramblers. He served his country in WWII in the Army as a member of the 785th Tank Battalion. He married Corine Devall in 1944. He was retired from Stauffer Chemical. He was a 32 Degree mason and a member of Central Lodge #442 F&AM for over 50 years. He was also a member of Blackwater United Methodist Church. He was know for his love of life and people and opened his home to clothe and feed many in their time of need from family to stranger.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Corine Devall Carpenter; and son, Perry Lynn Carpenter; brothers, Glancy L. "Judge" Carpenter and wife, "Kit", and Talmadge "Tomcat" Carpenter and wife, Bobbie; sister, Arietta Carpenter Devall and husband, Johnny "Boo"; brother-in-law, Mannie "Bud" Chemin.

He is survived by his children Mark Edward Carpenter, Jackie Carpenter Bone and husband, Harley, and Sandra Carpenter Warrington and husband, Earl; grandchildren, Jeffery Warrington and wife, Maria, Bradley Warrington and wife, Joy, Jeremy Warrington and wife, Lisa, Melissa Bone, and Rebecca Bone Eyre and husband, Henry C. III "Trey"; great-grandchildren, Tori, Zachary, Miller, Cooper, Owen, Ava, Davis, Leah, Mason and Kella Warrington, Lola Devall Eyre, Henry C. Eyre IV "Hank", and John Milton Eyre; sister, Mae Carpenter Chemin.

The family would like to thank the staff at Golden Age and especially the CNAs that took such good care of Daddy during his stay and Life Source Hospice. Also to a dedicated caregiver and friend, Larry Tolin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blackwater United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
