Jilreth Kopp Head

Jill went to her heavenly home on December 3, 2019. She lived her faith in Jesus Christ, was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a caring friend, and adored her family.

She was a “farm girl” who grew up with her siblings on a wheat and cotton farm in Oklahoma. She always loved the out of doors...traveling, camping, and gardening were some of her favorites. Indoors you could find her baking and sewing. Professionally, she was known best as “Ms. Jill” during her 20-year banking career in Ponchatoula.

As a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ponchatoula, she taught Bible study, served on the finance committee and as an Elder.

Jill is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Lee Head to whom she was married for 69 years and loved deeply; daughter, Cynthia Head Shelton (Robert); their children, Christy Hill Campbell (Chad), Stacey Hill Spears (Duane), Lillian Shelton Savoie (Andre), John Sims Shelton; son, Dennis Keith Head (Tina); their children, Tiffany Denise Head (Dominic Frederick), and Trevor Wesley Head (Stefanie); great- grandchildren, Kaylee and Karson Campbell, Robert, Dillon (Tanzi), Victoria Spears, Adam, Noah and Sarah Savoie, Julia Sims Wood, Sims Andrew Shelton Savoie, Marty Anthony “Trey” Poirrier, III, Tyler Gabriel Poirrier, and Lillian Violet Head. She is also survived by her beloved nieces, great nieces and great nephews.

Jill is preceded in death by her parents, Homer A. Kopp and Edith Davis Kopp Casner; brother, Wesley Davis Kopp; sister, Donna Jo Kopp Gaskill.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at the First Presbyterian Church in Ponchatoula on Saturday, December 14, 2019. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. with the service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Jill’s memory to First Presbyterian Church, Ponchatoula, LA.
