Jeffrey "Bodean" Klinton Stewart
Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home

Bodean, age 56, went to join his son, Jerry Kyle, in Heaven on Monday, June 10, 2019. He was a big man with an even bigger heart, who was always taking care of other people, yet never asked for anything in return. Bodean was a crafty jack of all trades, he was always the person called upon for anything from carpentry work to installing tile, he knew how to do anything, there wasn’t a job too big or too small he wouldn’t tackle. He loved cooking, singing with his family, gardening, he was a talented athlete, an avid outdoorsman, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Bodean was never one to meet a stranger, because once he started talking to them, they ended up becoming friends. He had the most infectious laugh you have ever heard, and an even bigger smile that lit up any room he entered. Bodean was a Captain with the Denham Springs Fire Department and was scheduled to retire on July 1st of this year. His family will cherish every memory they have made together, and he is already deeply missed by all who knew him.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 33 years, Michelle Kinchen Stewart; son, Joshua Klinton Stewart and his soon to be wife Katie Marie Delaneuville; brothers, Thomas “Putt” Stewart III, Brian Keith Stewart and his wife Tiffany, Andrew Chustz and Jamie Adams; parents, Thomas Dillard Stewart Jr. and Flora “Flo” Stewart; parents-in-law, Jerry and Essie Kinchen; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends; as well as special sister-in-laws, Kim Kinchen and Sandy Smith; and his furbaby, Duke.

Preceding him in death were his son, Jerry Kyle Stewart; brother, Kyle Stewart; biological father, Jimmy Kent Adams; paternal grandparents, Lucy Schenks, Dillard Stewart Sr. and Myrtis Stewart; maternal grandparents, Klinton and Maude Bostwick.

Pallbearers will be his fellow firefighters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home in Hammond on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Service at 10:00 a.m. Bro. Danny Burnham, pastor of Albany 1st Baptist Church, will officiate the services with interment to follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
