Floyd, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Sunday , September 8, 2019. He was a resident of Albany, was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He proudly served in the United States Army. Floyd owned a Fencing Company for over 40 years. He enjoyed farming and loved to play his guitar with family and friends. He was an ordained minister who shared the gospel with everyone he met. He also was a Baton Rouge firefighter. He had a heart of gold and loved and cared for everyone. Floyd was a true family man who left a remarkable impact on those he loved and will be forever missed.

Floyd is survived by sons, Ronny and Mandy Cowart, Larry and Debbie Cowart, Darrell and Phillis Cowart, Dean Cowart, Barry and Kayern Cowart, Wayne Cowart, Curtis and Rachel Cowart: daughters, Kathleen and Dennis Watts, Vickie and Chris Wilson, Genell Cowart and Greg Malnar; and over 200 grandchildren including great-great-grandchilden.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Hano Cowart; parents, Perry and Inez Cowart; Joe Cowart, Ellis Cowart, Wilford Cowart, Wilton Cowart, Leroy Cowart, Lorena Cowart, Irena Boyd, Inez Hano, Clyde Cowart, Anna Lee Cowart; daughter-in-law, Jane Morris; son-in-law Jerry Lee Gordon; and great-granddaughter Kaelynn Wadsworth.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson, Hammond, on Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 noon. Brother Howard will officiate with interment to follow in Cowart Cemetery in Holden, LA.
