Duane, age 61, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 27, 2019. He was a native of Independence and a resident of Hammond. Duane was an extremely hard worker and spent many years as a Millwright. He was a member of the Bedico Church of God. Duane was extremely intelligent and spent his free time inventing things that nobody else could even dream of. He was a quiet man, but he loved his family deeply. Duane was a wonderful son, great brother, and loving uncle who will be deeply missed.
Duane is survived by his parents, Carleen Morgan and Rev. Jesse Tate; brother, Capt. Dale Tate (Ann); nieces, Kristie Stedman, Shannon Lewis; and several great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Sarah Blount and William T. Tate, and Delia Watts and Howard R. Morgan Sr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson, Hammond, on Sunday, December 1, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, December 2, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Pete Petry will officiate and interment will follow in New Haven Baptist Cemetery.
