Caroline Morse Landry
Caroline Morse Landry passed away peacefully at home in Folsom, LA on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at the age of 87.
Carol was born in Hammond, LA on December 8, 1932 to Margaret Anderson Morse and Charles Sumner Morse.
Her husband of 49 years, Thomas H Landry, predeceased her in 2008. Her grandson, Kestin Maggio, and son-in-law, Chuck Sharp also predeceased her in 2019.
She is survived by her daughters, Melanie Sharp, and Michele Pennington (Dustan). She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Hailey Pennington, and Peyton Pennington. She is great-grandmother to Christopher Maggio and Brice Maggio.
She graduated from Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana with a degree in Chemistry and Physics. She later received a master’s degree from Louisiana State University in Secondary Education.
Carol taught at Leon Godchaux High in Reserve, LA, where she and Tommy met. Twenty- six of her thirty teaching years were spent teaching 7th-9th grades at Lee Road Junior High. While there she was the 4-H leader. Her favorite activity though was the yearly Christmas program that every kindergarten- sixth grade student participated in. She retired in 1986.
The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to Egan Ochsner Hospice for the care extended the final months of her life. Abundant thanks especially to her two nurses, Kathleen and Joann. They truly are angels on Earth.
