Tickfaw man charged with wife’s murder Thursday

From the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office:
TICKFAW, LA - November 16, 2018 - Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that in the afternoon of Thursday November 15, 2018, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriffs Office responded to the area of Ed Brown Road, in Tickfaw after receiving reports of a possible shooting at a residence.

Upon arrival, deputies located a female later identified as 25-year-old Tickfaw resident Sabrina Anderson seated in silver sedan suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Emergency Medical Technicians with Arcadian Ambulance Service responded to the location where they rendered medical aid. The victim later succumbed to her injuries at a nearby medical facility.

While conducting the initial investigation, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriffs Office was notified by members of the Tickfaw Police Department regarding a male - later identified as 33-year-old Tickfaw resident Walter Albert, who entered the Tickfaw Police Department claiming to have shot his wife. Albert was subsequently taken into custody after and a supplemental investigation revealed Albert and the victim Anderson were in fact husband and wife.

Albert was booked into Tangipahoa Parish Jail on the charge of L.R.S.14:30.1 Relative to Second Degree Murder.
