LSP Investigates Deputy Involved Shooting in Livingston Parish


Denham Springs – Today Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations was contacted by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office to investigate an officer involved shooting involving their deputies.

The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Jackey Sampson of Denham Springs.

Preliminary investigation reveals that deputies from the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the Richmond Place Subdivision. Deputies encountered an armed subject at the residence and shots were fired. The subject was struck and sustained life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office.


Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A and the Louisiana State Police Crime Scene Unit were called to the scene to assist with the investigation.
