St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s detectives are investigating an aggravated battery that occurred between a father and son Saturday night (December 2) in the Lacombe area.

Dispatchers sent STPSO deputies to 59438 Pineridge Road in Lacombe at approximately 9:30 p.m. Saturday evening (December 2) after receiving a 911 call from the residence with no one on the other end of the line.

Responding deputies found a 57-year-old man unconscious inside the home. A family member at the residence told deputies the victim had gotten in a fight with his son, who had since left.
While deputies were still at the scene, the son returned and was taken into custody.

Casey Melerine, 27, of Lacombe was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail for Second Degree Aggravated Battery.
The father was transported to a south shore hospital, where he remains in critical condition with a head injury.
