From the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office:
TANGIPAHOA PARISH- The State Fire Marshal’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a man wanted for trying to set his mother’s mobile home on fire when she tried to kick him out.

Dwayne Vining, 38, is being sought for the fire that occurred over the summer in the 409 West Pine Street in Amite. A warrant for one count of Aggravated Arson has been issued for his arrest.

On July 1, Tangipahoa Fire District #1 contacted the SFM following their response to a 911 call about a table cloth and a pillow case being lit on fire inside the home. Both were removed before any damage to the interior of the home could occur.

Investigators learned Vining lit the objects on fire during an argument with his mother over him moving out.

The SFM is asking anyone with information about this suspect’s whereabouts to contact our Arson Hotline at 1-800-256-5452 or share the information through our online tip form found at lasfm.org.
