From the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office:
UPDATE:
Sheriff Ard confirms that a body - believed to be that of Peter Pedeaux - was discovered this morning around 9:00a by volunteers.

The body was located near the intersection of Blood River & Perrin Ferry Roads in Springfield.

At this time, detectives do not suspect foul play. An autopsy will be done to determine a cause of death.

Sheriff Ard appreciates all those first responders & volunteers who dedicated their time in the field & their attention to this case.

This investigation is ongoing.

Our thoughts & prayers are with the Pedeaux family...

FAMILY STATEMENT:
‘We would like to thank everyone who helped search for Peter and we are so moved by the actions, love and support we received. There were people from all around who came to help us and for that we are grateful.

It's important to know that Peter was close to his family and that he loved God and genuinely loved people. He was so kind, sweet, and had the heart of a missionary.

This is not the outcome we were praying for but know Peter is now wrapped in the arms of our loving Father for eternity. Even though we are currently experiencing painful sorrow, we now anxiously anticipate the day we are reunited.’ - Pedeaux Family

**BACKGROUND..............:

MORE INFO (8p, 1/4/18):
Search efforts for Peter Pedeaux are ongoing...

MORE INFO (9:00a, 1/3/18):
Search for Peter Pedeaux continues...

It's believed he was wearing blue jeans, a white hoodie & a black jacket.

Terrain: woods, swamp-like, lots of water.

LPSO joined by LPFD2 & numerous civilians who are all still searching. The search is by foot, boat, air & with our K9 partners.

The focus of the LPSO at this time is to find Peter & to bring him home. Detectives are following every lead.

We intend to keep deputies in the area throughout the night. Volunteers are encouraged to rejoin the search at first light tomorrow - when it is safe to do so. Volunteers should be prepared to face various water-level depths in the search area.

As always, Sheriff Ard & our LPSO deputies appreciate the show of support & the helping hands.

Pastor Scott Boney/Designated Pedeaux Family Spokesperson says....

'Long & cold day. Still believing for Peter to be found. We’ll continue to pray & we’ll continue to look. Most of the area is very wet, very swampy - talking ankle to knee deep with water.
Tomorrow, we’ll continue looking for clues as to where he may be. Could not have fathomed that when we started making a few phone calls & a few Facebook posts that we’d have such a fantastic & phenomenal turn out of people who gave sacrificially in the cold - 20 degree weather - and they have not stopped coming. Have served non-stop. The family asks that they all know how much they appreciate each & everyone.’
