Hammond, Ponchatoula men convicted on various charges

Amite- District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court March 11, 2019, before Judge Jeffery Johnson and pleaded either guilty or no contest or were found guilty of the following crimes and received the following sentences:

Alfred Cobb Jr., age 27, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to three counts of theft of goods over $1,500.00, attempted armed robbery, attempted theft of $25,000.00 or more, simple criminal damage to property, illegal possession of stolen things $5,000.00 or more but less than $50,000.00. He was sentenced to 20 years with the department of corrections. All but five years of the sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay restitution.

Matthew Peak, age 41, of Ponchatoula, LA, pleaded no contest to vehicular homicide and theft of $5,000.00 or more but less than $25,000.00. Sentencing is scheduled for April 23, 2019.
