Employee accused in theft of $39K at Walmart in Bogalusa

BOGALUSA---On Saturday, November 11th the Bogalusa Police Department received information from Wal-Mart about a theft involving an employee.

During the investigation, it was learned that on Friday, November 10th that Wal-Mart employee, Ronald McMorris, 20, of Bogalusa, was working a register at a check-out line when he loaded 41 different gift cards for 2 separate people. McMorris is accused of swiping and loading cash on the gift cards at his register without taking payment from the 2 suspects, for a total of $39,217.67.

On Sunday, November 12th, McMorris was placed under arrest when he arrived for work at Wal-Mart. McMorris was charged and booked with 2 counts of Theft of $5,000.00 and Conspiracy to Commit Felony Theft.

The BPD Detective Division are currently looking for the two suspects who received the gift cards for questioning. They are both described as black males possibly riding in a black Chevrolet Tahoe.
