From Mandeville Police:
The Mandeville Police Department is pleased to release its UCR numbers for 2018. The statistics are compiled from seven categories which make up the national Uniform Crime Report that is reported to the FBI annually. Those seven categories are Murder, Rape, Robbery, Assault, Burglary, Theft, and Auto Theft. The city of Mandeville experienced an overall “drop” in crime of 16.5% from the previous calendar year.

There were no murders in Mandeville for 2018 (0 in 2017.)
MPD investigated 1 rape in 2018 (1 in 2017.)
Robbery was up 50%; with 3 robberies in 2018 as opposed to 2 in 2017.
Assaults continue decrease by over 32% with 60 reported in 2018 down from 89 in 2017. Burglary reports decreased over 32% as well with 25 reported in 2018, down from 37 in 2017
Thefts dropped nearly 10% with 191 in 2018 and 212 in 2017.The majority of the thefts which we contend with are shopliftings.
Auto thefts doubled in 2018 with 8 stolen vehicles (5 of which were recovered.) 4 were reported for 2017.

The overall low crime rate can be attributed to the work ethic and professionalism of the men and women of the Mandeville Police Department as well as the relationships we maintain with our residential and business community. It is the community support and cooperation that helps us to be effective in our mission.
