GRAVES STATEMENT | Gov. Edwards Requests Restore Increase Reimbursement Assistance to 100% for Flood Impacted Homeowners

Washington, DC – Congressman Garret Graves (South Louisiana) issued the following statement today regarding Governor Edwards’ acting to expand Restore recovery assistance toeligible homeowners affected by the 2016 flooding in Louisiana:

"We strongly support the governor's action today to increase federal financial assistance to flood victims and will continue to work with HUD, the state and the Restore Program to speed the distribution of recovery funding to impacted homeowners so that they can get back in their homes and return to some degree of normalcy.

Importantly, the increase in payments will not jeopardize federal funding available in the Restore program to compensate Duplication of Benefits victims once the U.S. Senate acts on our legislation. We commend Governor Edwards for acting."

THE DEADLINE TO TAKE THE HOMEOWNER ASSISTANCE SURVEY IS JULY 20, 2018.All flood-impacted homeowners are strongly encouraged to complete the survey. Even if you don’t think you qualify now, you may qualify as more funding becomes available or program policies change in the future. The program will be unable to consider homeowners who have not submitted a survey by the July 20 deadline. Learn more at
