4 juveniles arrested for many Hammond burglaries

December 21, 2018, City of Hammond, LA – The Hammond Police Department has made four arrests in the string of burglaries that have recently occurred in the Iowa District and Gray’s Quarters neighborhoods, according to Chief James Stewart.

During the burglary investigations, Terrence Johnson, 17, of Hammond, was identified as a suspect and arrested by HPD Detectives on November 30, 2018 for 21 counts of burglary.

On December 20, 2018, HPD Officers arrested three juveniles while responding to a burglary in progress on Hewitt Road. The juveniles were charged with Aggravated Burglary and have charges pending for several other burglaries.

Additional suspects have been identified, and warrants are being issued for their arrests.Through the investigations, Johnson was identified as being part of the burglary ring.

The investigation is ongoing.
