Amite- District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court on February 4, 2020 before Judge Brian Abels and pleaded either guilty or no contest or were found guilty of the following crimes and received the following sentences:

Cory Drummond, age 33, of Independence, LA, pleaded no contest to contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. He is ordered to pay a $750.00 fine along with court costs.

Reginald Fryer, age 27, of Tickfaw, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule I controlled dangerous substances, possession of schedule IV controlled dangerous substances, possession of schedule IV controlled dangerous substances, and possession of heroin or fentanyl. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. He is ordered to pay a $1,000.00 fine along with court costs.

Antoine Hughes, age 35, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to first offense domestic abuse battery. He was sentenced to 78 days in the parish jail. He received credit for time served.

Jacob Knight, age 27, of Ponchatoula, LA, pleaded no contest to theft. He received credit for time served.

Laquan Martin, age 22, of Amite, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated assault with a firearm, and battery on correctional officer. He was sentenced to five years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Herman Nelson, age 28, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of a stolen firearm. He was sentenced to five years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay a $1,000.00 fine along with court costs.

Jody Parson, age 40, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of stolen property and simple burglary. He was sentenced to five years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay a $1,000.00 fine along with court costs.

Nicholas Richardson, age 20, of Ponchatoula, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Anthony Thompson, age 38, of Independence, LA, pleaded no contest to two counts possession with intent to distribute schedule I controlled dangerous substances, possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances, and two counts of first offense domestic abuse battery. He was sentenced to one year with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

David Varnado, age 46, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to simple burglary. He was sentenced to three years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay a $1,000.00 fine along with court costs.

Marick Williams, age 27, of Kentwood, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to 15 days in the parish jail. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for three months. He is ordered to pay a $300.00 fine along with court costs.

Elzie Hawthorne Jr., age 57, of Kentwood, LA, pleaded no contest to distribution/possession with intent to distribute schedule II controlled dangerous substances. Sentencing is scheduled for March 3, 2020.

Dorius Redding, age 47, of Galveston, TX, pleaded no contest to distribution/possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances, and possession of schedule IV controlled dangerous substances. He was sentenced eight years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay a $500.00 fine along with court costs.

Jerry Barnes, age 48, of Ponchatoula, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances- methamphetamine. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections. The sentence was deferred and he was placed on probation for two years. He is ordered to pay a $250.00 fine along with court costs.

Kenyattate Berry, age 19, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to distribution/possession with intent to distribute schedule II controlled dangerous substances and aggravated flight from an officer where human is endangered. Sentencing is scheduled for March 3, 2020.

Danarian Breasher, age 30, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to domestic abuse battery- first offense household member. He was sentenced to 42 days in the parish jail. He received credit for time served.

Sean Cyprian, age 48, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was sentenced to five years with the department of corrections for each count. Time is to be served concurrently.

Samuel Fair, age 58, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to aggravated battery and simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling. He was sentenced to five years with the department of corrections. All but one year of the sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay restitution.

Jerome Favors, age 24, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to eight counts of simple burglary. He was sentenced to five years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Troy Glass, age 41, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to attempted possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Sentencing is scheduled for March 3, 2020.

Delzavia Henry, age 26, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances- cocaine, possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances- methamphetamine, and domestic abuse battery- first offense household member. He was sentenced to four years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Brian Jones, age 56, of Ponchatoula, LA, pleaded no contest to simple burglary, attempted burglary, introducing or possessing contraband in any municipal or parish prison, and possession of heroin. He was sentenced to three years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Donald Leonard II, age 38, of Springfield, LA, pleaded no contest to distribution of schedule II controlled dangerous substances- methamphetamine. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years.

Brandy McCance, age 44, of Ponchatoula, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule I controlled dangerous substances- heroin. She was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections. The sentence was deferred and she was placed on probation for two years. She is ordered to pay a $250.00 fine along with court costs.

Amber Montgomery, age 26, of Madisonville, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances- methamphetamine. She was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections. The sentence was deferred and she was placed on probation for two years. She is ordered to pay a $250.00 fine along with court costs.

Allen Norris Jr., age 43, of Robert, LA, pleaded no contest to two counts of possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections.

Marisa Purvis, age 24, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule I controlled dangerous substances- heroin. She was sentenced to four years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and she was placed on probation.

John Strate, age 39, of Tickfaw, LA, pleaded no contest to second offense domestic abuse battery. Sentencing is scheduled for March 3, 2020.

John Wheat III, age 26, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to driving while intoxicated. He was sentenced to six months in the parish jail. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. He is ordered to pay a $1,210.00 fine along with court costs.

Christopher Zimmerman, age 48, of Ponchatoula, LA, pleaded no contest to domestic abuse aggravated assault. He was sentenced to three years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay a $350.00 fine along with court costs.

Trenton Ballard, age 40, of Roseland, LA, pleaded no contest to possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute schedule II controlled dangerous substances-methamphetamine. He was sentenced to 12 years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Lionell Martin, age 46, of Independence, LA, pleaded no contest to operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He was sentenced to 90 days in the parish jail. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for one year. He is ordered to pay a $935.00 fine along with court costs.

Brendan McClain, age 36, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to illegal possession of stolen things under $500.00. He was placed on probation for one year. He is ordered to pay a $250.00 fine along with court costs.

Corey Schenk, age 35, of Kentwood, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances- cocaine and domestic abuse battery- child endangerment law. He was sentenced to one year with the department of corrections for each count. Time is to be served concurrently.

Chermaine Thrasher, age 40, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances- cocaine, possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances- methamphetamine, and possession of schedule IV controlled dangerous substances- lorazepam. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections for each count. Time is to be served concurrently.

Daniel Wesby, age 40, of Kentwood, LA, pleaded no contest to criminal trespassing and simple battery. He was sentenced to six months in the parish jail for each count. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for one year. He is ordered to pay a $250.00 fine along with court costs.

Joshua Blake, age 23, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to simple burglary. He was sentenced to three years with the department of corrections. The sentence was deferred and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay a $500.00 fine along with court costs.

Tyler Blake, age 26, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to simple burglary. He was sentenced to three years with the department of corrections. The sentence was deferred and he was placed on probation or three years. He is ordered to pay a $500.00 fine along with court costs.

Justin Brown, age 38, of Kentwood, LA, pleaded no contest to felony theft and resisting arrest. He received credit for time served.

Tricia Bryant, age 33, of Amite, LA, pleaded no contest to flight from an officer. She was sentenced to six months in the parish jail. The sentence was suspended and she was placed on probation for one year. She is ordered to pay a $350 fine along with court costs.

Brandon Burrescia, age 37, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances. He was sentenced to one year with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Joseph Dantzler, age 58, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to distribution of schedule II controlled dangerous substances, possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances, and possession of schedule IV controlled dangerous substances. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay a $750.00 fine along with court costs.

Matthew Hines, age 33, of Independence, LA, pleaded no contest to third offense driving while intoxicated. He was sentenced to three years with the department of corrections. All but one year of the sentence was suspended. He will be placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay a $2000.00 fine along with court costs.

Kirk James, age 46, of Roseland, LA, pleaded no contest to simple battery. He received credit for time served.
