Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office plans DWI checkpoint

Author: Action News 17/Wednesday, July 3, 2019/Categories: Front Page, Crime

From the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office - in conjunction with several other local law enforcement agencies - will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Livingston Parish over the July 4th holiday. Drivers can also expect saturation patrols. This is all part of the ‘Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over’ campaign which runs through July 7th. The checkpoints are in an effort to protect our citizens from those who choose to drink and drive.

Specifics will not be released in advance.

Grant monies, made available through a federal grant administered by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, will fund overtime pay for the officers involved.

Motorists are urged to drive carefully and comply with all Louisiana Traffic regulations.
