Johnson, Simpson, Wolfe issue sentences in Amite criminal court

From District Attorney Scott Perrilloux:

AMITE---District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court on June 26, 2019 before Judge Simpson and pleaded either guilty or no contest or were found guilty of the following crimes and received the following sentences:

Davontaye Jackson, age 24, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to conspiracy to commit second degree murder. Sentencing is scheduled for July 23, 2019.

Kevin Jarrell, age 47, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to introduction of contraband. He was sentenced to three years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Stacey Kirkland, age 51, of Albany, LA, pleaded no contest to domestic abuse battery-first offense and driving while intoxicated-first offense. He was sentenced to six months in the parish jail for each count. Time is to be served concurrently. He received credit for time served.

Scott Kvesth, age 35, of Memphis, TN, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances and driving while intoxicated- first offense. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. He is ordered to pay a $500.00 fine along with court costs.

Kenya Lee, age 24, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to home invasion, simple burglary, and possession of stolen property. She was sentenced to three years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and she was placed on probation for three years. She is ordered to pay a $500.00 fine along with court costs.

Corey Lloyd, age 39, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule I controlled dangerous substances- MDMA, possession of marijuana, and criminal trespassing. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay a $500.00 fine along with court costs.

Verdale Moore, age 26, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to simple escape, two counts of aggravated arson, and conspiracy to commit second degree murder. Sentencing is scheduled for July 23, 2019.

Ryan Nelson, age 28, of Loranger, LA, pleaded no contest to distribution/possession with intent to distribute schedule II controlled dangerous substances. He was sentenced to three years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay a $500.00 fine along with court costs.

Juan Wilson, age 20, of Ponchatoula, LA, pleaded no contest to simple burglary. He was sentenced to three years with the department of corrections. The sentence was deferred and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay a $500.00 fine along with court costs.

In other news from Tangipahoa criminal court, Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court on June 25, 2019 before Judge Jeffery Johnson and pleaded either guilty or no contest or were found guilty of the following crimes and received the following sentences:

Darryl Berry Jr., age 28, of Ponchatoula, LA, pleaded no contest to theft. He received credit for time served.

Nathan Gauthreaux, age 24, of Independence, LA, pleaded no contest to simple burglary. He was sentenced to three years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years.

Gerald Jenkins, age 57, of Ponchatoula, LA, pleaded no contest to distribution of schedule III controlled dangerous substances. He was sentenced to four years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Dion Kelly, age 32, of Amite, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule I controlled dangerous substances, possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances, driving while intoxicated- first offense, careless operation, no seatbelt, and no driver’s license. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay a $500.00 fine along with court costs.

Michael King, age 35, of Ponchatoula, LA, pleaded no contest to distribution/possession with intent to distribute schedule II controlled dangerous substances. He was sentenced to four years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Michael Mitchell, age 27, of Loranger, LA, pleaded no contest to two counts of possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances and possession of heroin. He was sentenced to three years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Ebony Parker, age 31, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to unlawful sales to person under 21 years of age. She received credit for time served.

William Patterson, age 24, of Baton Rouge, LA, pleaded no contest to conspiracy to commit manslaughter. He was sentenced to eight years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Robert Russell IV, age 42, of Amite, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while intoxicated- first offense, careless operation, and driving under suspension. He received credit for time served.

Valerie Stewart, age 40, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to two counts of possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances. She was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections for each count. She received credit for time served. Time is to be served concurrently.

Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court on June 24, 2019 before Judge Elizabeth Wolfe and pleaded either guilty or no contest or were found guilty of the following crimes and received the following sentences:

Lester Braud, age 60, Folsom, LA, pleaded no contest to indecent behavior-victim under age of 13. He was sentenced to seven years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay a $100.00 fine along with court costs.

Jaquorius Braxton, age 19, of Kentwood, LA, pleaded no contest to illegal possession of stolen things over $500.00 but under $1,500.00. Sentencing is scheduled for August 28, 2019.

Justin Evans, age 31, of Prairieville, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule I controlled dangerous substances- heroin, possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances, and possession with intent to distribute schedule III controlled dangerous substances. He was sentenced to six years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Jacob Guidry, age 22, of Independence, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was sentenced to 10 days in the parish jail. He received credit for time served.

Jeremy Jones Sr., age 26, of Roseland, LA, pleaded no contest to intimidating or impeding a witness. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Jay Ockman, age 37, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances, possession with intent to distribute schedule II controlled dangerous substances, and two counts of distribution or possession with intent to distribute schedule II controlled dangerous substances or counterfeit. He was sentenced to 13 years with the department of corrections.

Shalchavono Robinson, age 37, of Independence, LA, pleaded no contest to three counts of forgery, first offense domestic abuse battery, and resisting an officer. She was sentenced to one year with the department of corrections. She received credit for time served.

John Ryan, age 28, of Springfield, LA, pleaded no contest to theft in excess of $1,000.00 but less than $5,000.00. He was sentenced to one year with the department of corrections. The sentence was deferred and he was placed on probation for two years. He is ordered to pay all fines, court costs, and restitution.

Johnny Thompson, age 32, of Jackson, MS, pleaded no contest to possession with intent to distribute schedule I controlled dangerous substances, possession with intent to distribute schedule II controlled dangerous substances, and possession with intent to distribute schedule IV controlled dangerous substances. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections for each count. Time is to be served concurrently.
