HPD seeks identity of woman on video with cell phone

From Hammond Police:

The Hammond Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a black female wanted in connection with a cellphone theft that occurred on April 8, 2019, at approximately 8:00 pm, at Rouse’s Supermarket, located at 2704 West Thomas Street.

 

While reviewing video surveillance, HPD detectives observed the victim placing the cellphone down on the counter and leaving the register to retrieve another item from the store. The victim returns to pay for his items and leaves the store. The suspect is then seen taking the phone and leaving the store after purchasing her items.
