HPD searches for man on video with cell phone

From Hammond Police:

April 22, 2019, City of Hammond, LA – The Hammond Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a black male wanted in connection with a cellphone theft that occurred on April 12, 2019, at approximately 2:00 am, at Rende’s Quick Stop, located at 306 West University.  

 

While reviewing video surveillance, HPD detectives observed the victim placing the cellphone down on the counter and purchasing his selected items. The victim walks out of the store leaving his cellphone on the counter.  The suspect then takes the phone from the counter and leaves the store after purchasing his items. The suspect entered a vehicle that appears to be a black Kia Optima.
