UPDATE: 9 roads posted in Tangi Parish due to high water
AMITE—Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller announced Saturday that heavy rains have prompted Parish Road crews to survey area roads for rising water.

Miller said that as of 10:30 p.m. Saturday crews have posted “high water” signs on Neal Road, School Road, Straughan Nursery Road, Graham Road, Mixon Road, Easley Road, Arcola Road, and Friendship Church Road. Crews have also closed East Lewiston between Brumfield Rd and R Booty Rd due to high water. Additional roads may be posted as necessary, Miller said.

Miller said public works crews will assess all roads in the parish. He encouraged motorists to avoid driving through flooded roads.
