STPSO finds "no evidence of threat" at Fontainebleau High
From the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office:
St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office is aware of social media posts being made about a potential threat at Fontainebleau High School. We want to assure parents at this time that there is NO EVIDENCE OF A THREAT and no reason for concern. The school and students are safe.
Through our investigation we determined the comments originated after students overheard another student discussing a dream.
We were made aware of the conversation overheard, investigated it and have determined there is no creditability to this threat.
We understand that many Parents and students are on heightened alert after the recent event in Florida. Sheriff Randy Smith, area police chiefs and School Superintendent Trey Folse met this morning to address school safety and review the plans that are in place.
We want all parents and residents to know that the safety of our schools and your children is of the utmost importance to us, and we take any and all threats seriously.
