From Hammond Police
Hammond, LA – On Tuesday at approximately 5:45 pm, the Hammond Police Department was called to assist the Southeastern Louisiana University Police Department for a shooting incident that occurred at North Oak Park, located at 2699 North Oak Street.
During the investigation, it was determined that a domestic argument turned into a shooting. The victim sought treatment for non-life threating injuries at North Oaks Medical Center.
HPD and UPD were able to locate the suspect, Robert Elzey, 44 of Hammond. Elzey was charged with aggravated second degree battery and taken to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.
