Michelle Trapen named 2019 Mother Seton winner at STA
HAMMOND---St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School is proud to announce that they have selected Mrs. Michelle Trapen as the 2019 Mother Seton Award Recipient.

The Mother Seton award was created by the Diocese of Baton Rouge to honor those individuals whose volunteer service and dedication to home, school and the Church has been exemplary. The winners of this award have a strong, Catholic value and a selfless dedication to Catholic Education.

“Michelle has been an asset to St. Thomas Aquinas in so many different ways over the past 10 years” said Advancement Director Grace Gambel. “She has been on every committee our school has; there is nothing that she will not do to make our school a better place. She doesn’t come to the table with complaints; rather she addresses issues in a positive manner and always brings a solution. We are extremely blessed to have her as part of the STA community. Her youngest son will graduate this year; she and her entire family will truly be missed.”

Trapen has served on every committee at some point over the past 10 years including: STA Home and School Association, in which she served as Treasurer the past 3-years, Falcon Fest Committee, Chaired the Open House Committee, Chairperson for the Football team Golf Tournament, Advisory Board member and has served as a Parent Ambassador. She also has spent countless hours setting up tailgates, fundraisers for both the Soccer and Football teams, served as a team parent and has been a homecoming parent volunteer.

Trapen also serves on the Board of Directors for CASA in the Capital area and is a member of the Baton Rouge Junior League and is on the Kappa Alpha Theta Advisory Board. She is a senior account manager for BearCom which designs and sells Motorola communication systems primarily in the petro-chemical industry. She is married to Mark Trapen and together they have 4 children, Morgan, Mason, William and Adam.

She will be honored at a Diocesan luncheon in May and at the STA Baccalaureate Mass.
