Catalano returns to coach STA Falcons Baseball team
St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School has selected Cole Catalano as the next Head Baseball Coach.

This will be Catalano’s third stint with the STA baseball program.

Catalano was a non-faculty coach from 2010-2012. He then joined the faculty in 2015 and served as assistant coach until 2018, winning a state championship in 2016. Last year, Catalano served as the Head Baseball Coach at Hammond High Magnet School.

Catalano prepped at Fountainebleau High School in Mandeville and played baseball at Southeastern Louisiana University while completing his undergraduate degree in 2010. In 2015 he joined the faculty at St. Thomas as a Theology teacher and during that time he took over the role of Campus Minister.

In addition to his role as Head Baseball Coach, Catalano will serve as Advancement Director. He will oversee the Annual Appeal, the STA newsletter, The Flame, and manage the donor and alumni databases.

Catalano said, “I am thrilled to be back where I started my high school coaching career. The Catholic identity of the school has had a major impact on my life. I look forward to rekindling past relationships, while building new ones, both as a Head Baseball Coach and Advancement Director.”

STA Principal Pat Sanguinetti added, “We are excited to have Cole back on campus. When I came to STA, it was clear that he made a positive impact on the STA community and we needed him back on our staff. These two positions were the perfect opportunity to make that happen.”
