AMITE---Family and friends of two men who were killed last week will be remember in a “Celebration of Life Parade” planned Friday, June 12, in Amite.
Organizers have planned the gathering to remember Alvin “AJ” Henderson and Terrance “TJ” Foster, who were killed in a shooting in a residence off Bourgeois Street last Thursday night. A third man was shot multiple times but is expected to be home this week after a lengthy hospitalization.
A 23-year-old Hammond man, Aridies Cane, was arrested last week and charged with two counts of first degree murder and one count of attempted first degree murder in the case.
Lee Lee Curry, an organizer of this event, said they would like to honor the memory of “two great young men (whose lives were lost) to senseless gun violence.”
The parade will begin at 5 p.m. next to the Food Depot Grocery store. They plan to have face masks for participants due to COVID-19. Refreshments will also be served.
