HAMMOND, LA –=- Over the course of the last three weeks, TPSO Detectives have been investigating multiple complaints from AT&T, Entergy and Charter Cable regarding live wire/cable being cut from poles and from inside locked maintenance boxes several locations throughout the parish.
At this time, approximately 15,000 feet of cable has been stolen. The majority of the wire/cable being cut and stolen is 400 -and 900 pair cable that weighs approximately three pounds per foot. One of the latest attempted cable thefts occurred on Rufus Bankston Road in Hammond, LA.
Detectives have developed a lead in the form of a possible suspect vehicle. The vehicle appears to be an older model Ford F-150 step side, green in color with a tan stripe at the bottom. Anyone who may recognize this vehicle or may have seen this vehicle around the Rufus Bankston Road the night of March 17th, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers, 800.554.5245.
