Sentences handed down in St. Helena criminal court

Greensburg- District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court on August 28 and August 31 and pleaded either guilty or no contest or were found guilty of the following crimes and received the following sentences:

Derrick Hughes, age 43, of Kentwood, LA, pleaded no contest to driving while intoxicated. He was sentenced to six months in the parish jail. The sentence was suspended, and he was placed on probation for two years. He is ordered to pay a $750.00 fine along with court costs.

Eric King, age 36, of Amite, LA, pleaded no contest to criminal mischief. He received credit for time served.
Percy Landry, age 49, of Amite, LA, pleaded no contest to criminal mischief, violation of protective order, two counts of battery of a dating partner- strangulation, domestic abuse battery-aggravated assault, and simple battery. He received credit for time served.

Leanderous McClendon, age 36, of Greensburg, LA, pleaded no contest to two counts of disturbing the peace and possession of alcoholic beverage in motor vehicle. He received credit for time served.

Norman Williams, age 30, of Pine Grove, LA, pleaded no contest to aggravated flight from an officer- life endanger and simple robbery. He was sentenced to five years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended, and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay a $1,800.00 fine along with court costs.

Greensburg- District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court on September 4 before Judge Robert H. Morrison and pleaded either guilty or no contest or were found guilty of the following crimes and received the following sentences:

Jay Cummings, age 52, of Denham Springs, LA, pleaded no contest to driving while intoxicated- second offense. He was sentenced to six months in the parish jail. The sentence was suspended, and he was placed on probation for two years. He is ordered to pay a $1,132.00 fine along with court costs.

Christina Davis, age 22, of Greensburg, LA, pleaded no contest to aggravated assault, cyberstalking, simple battery, and simple criminal damage to property. She was sentenced to six months in the parish jail. The sentence was suspended, and she was placed on probation for one year. She is ordered to pay all fines along with court costs and restitution.

McKinley Jackson, age 60, of Pine Grove, LA, pleaded no contest to driving while intoxicated- first offense. He was sentenced to 90 days in the parish jail. The sentence was suspended, and he was placed on probation for two years. He is ordered to pay all fines and court costs.
Samuel McKnight, age 58, of Greensburg, LA, pleaded no contest to two counts of simple assault. He received credit for time served.

Myron Morgan, age 22, of Fluker, LA, pleaded no contest to illegal possession of stolen things. He was sentenced to six months in the parish jail. The sentence was suspended, and he was placed on probation for one year. He is ordered to pay all fines and court costs.

Jesse Sanderford, age 22, of Denham Springs, LA, pleaded no contest to theft and simple criminal damage to property. He was sentenced to three years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended, and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay a $350.00 fine along with court costs and restitution.
