Ponchatoula woman and NOLA man arrested on drug charges

From the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office:

HAMMOND, LA – (March 6, 2018) – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the arrest of two individuals as the result of proactive police work by TPSO’s Patrol Division.

 

On February 26, 2018, 43-year-old Robert Bradford of New Orleans and 27-year-old  Belinda Bradford of Ponchatoula, were arrested shortly after allegedly committing an illegal drug transaction on Booker II Road.   

 

TPSO Deputies were patrolling on Booker II Road in Hammond, LA. in response to reports of excessive speeders and illegal drug trafficking sales in the area when they observed a couple traveling north on Booker II Road swiftly pull into  the driveway of a residence and complete  what appeared to be a hand -to -hand transaction consistent with a street level narcotics transactions.  This action took place in plain sight, right there on the porch in front of TPSO Deputies.   

 

Shortly thereafter, TPSO’s Street Crimes Unit arrived to assist the deputies in an investigatory traffic stop on the vehicle as it left the residence.   As a result, illegal narcotics were located on both persons and inside of the vehicle.   Subsequently, Robert Bradford was charged with possession of CDS II, sale/distribution/ or possession of a legend drug without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest by flight.  Belinda Bradford was charged with sale/distribution/ or possession of a legend drug without a prescription and possession of CDS II.
