From Ponchatoula Police
Ponchatoula- Chief Bry Layrisson announces the arrest of Malcolm J. Chester, age 32, on a First Degree Rape charge.
The Ponchatoula Police Department received the initial call regarding this incident, but requested that the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office conduct the investigation due to the offender having a close relative that works for PPD.

PPD Detectives and Street Crimes Unit received a copy of the arrest warrant this morning and placed Chester into custody. He was also booked on 12 failure to appear warrants through the City of Ponchatoula and a TPSO warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Firearm from 2018. He was released into the custody of TPSO.
Additional charges are pending. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to please contact the Ponchatoula Police Department.
