North End pair arrested for drugs and child endangerment


HAMMOND, LA --- Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the following narcotics-related arrests.

Yesterday afternoon, Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's deputies arrested Kentwood residents 49- year-old Joseph Hammons and 26 - year-old -Marylee Bellau on narcotics related charges.

Hammons and Bellau were taken into custody after arriving at a location where a search warrant was being conducted with a small child in back seat of their car.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed both subjects to be in possession of illegal narcotics. As a result, Hammons was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and child endangerment. Bellau was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of CDS II, possession of drug paraphernalia, and child endangerment.

The child was released to a family member at the scene.
