HPD investigates purse-snatching at restaurant
From Hammond Police:
April 23, 2019, City of Hammond, LA – On April 17, 2019, at approximately 10:00 pm, the Hammond Police Department began investigating a purse snatching that occurred at Brady’s Restaurant, located at 110 Southwest Railroad Avenue.

While reviewing video surveillance, HPD detectives observed four black males entering the restaurant and sitting at the bar. Two of the suspects are seen exiting Brady’s while the other two suspects look at menus. One of the suspects walks over to the victim and begins asking questions about the menu, causing the victim to turn her back to her purse. Once the victim has her back turned, the second black male takes the purse from the bar and walks out of the business. The other suspect then puts the menu back on the bar and exits the restaurant.

Anyone with information on these unknown subjects is asked to contact Detective Freeman Ramsey II, with the Hammond Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, at 985-277-5756 or Ramsey_FW@hammond.org, or call Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa’s anonymous tip line at 1-800-554-5245 (JAIL). Be a part of the solution, and you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
