Hammond Police seek leads in Monday’s Walmart robbery

Hammond, LA – The Hammond Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection to an Armed Robbery.

The Armed Robbery occurred on Monday, at approximately 10:00 am at the Walmart Money Center, located at 2799 West Thomas Street.

HPD detectives learned that the suspect is a black male wearing all black, a black dew rag, sunglasses, and a dust mask. The suspect was also carrying a black backpack.

Witnesses stated the suspect went behind the Money Center counter, showed employees a firearm and demanded money. The employees then opened their registers and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect left the scene on foot crossing Highway 190 West going towards the shopping center at Hobby Lobby. The suspect appears to be the same subject who robbed Winn Dixie earlier in the summer.
