Hammond Police ask for leads identifying theft suspect

September 12, 2018, City of Hammond, LA – The Hammond Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection to a theft. The theft occurred on September 10, 2018, at approximately 7:30 pm at Walmart located at 2799 West Thomas Street.

HPD detectives learned that the suspect is a black female who entered the store impersonating a Walmart manager. She approached a cashier and convinced the cashier to give her an undisclosed amount of money from the register, stating that she was taking the money to be deposited. The suspect is shown on video leaving Walmart with the money and driving away in a 4-door sedan, most likely a Nissan Altima or Maxima.
