Deputies searching for Pumpkin Center burglary suspect

PUMPKIN CENTER, LA --- Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards is asking for your assistance in identifying the subject in the attached surveillance camera photo.

TPSO detectives believe that the subject in theses photos is responsible for several burglaries in the Pumpkin Center area. On Thursday August 2, 2018, around 11:30 p.m., this unknown suspect was caught by security cameras traveling via bicycle east on Marilyn Lane off of Tuttle Road. The accused, with an attached basket on his handlebars, was caught by a security camera moments after a residence on Marilyn Lane was broken into. It appears that the same subject was again captured on surveillance video at a residence off of South Billville Road checking to see of car doors were locked, sheds doors and patios.

The same suspect was also seen rummaging through vehicles removing minor objects, except in one case a .38 caliber pistol. He is also believed to have removed mail from mailboxes in the area.

The suspect was first observed traveling east on Marilyn Lane from Tuttle Road, however the time stamp on the videos prove that the suspect traveled all within the areas of South Billville Road, Tuttle Road, and Marilyn Lane. Numerous interviews with shop keepers and residents in the area confirm seeing several subjects on bikes in the area during the times the crimes were committed.

The TPSO's Burglary Task Force is asking the public to remain vigilant and aware of suspicious persons/activity in their neighborhoods. Please report any out of the ordinary activity to authorities.

Anyone with information regarding the subject pictured in the attached photos to please contact Crime Stoppers at 800.554.5245 or TPSO Detective Heath Martin at 985-902-2088.
