3 arrested for home invasion and brutal attack in Hammond
HAMMOND, LA --- Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the following:

In the evening hours of November 28, 2018, a 65-year-old male was planning to travel to a nearby casino with a female friend he knew only as "Chris". When Chris arrived at the victim’s residence located on Deluxe Lake Dr. in Hammond around 5:30 p.m., which was at least three hours past their planned departure time, she felt the need to relax for a few minutes before heading out. Consequently, moments after her arrival two unknown males dressed in camouflage, armed with guns and wearing face masks entered the residence demanding money and the location of a safe. The suspects targeted the 65 -year-old male during the attack by striking him in the face with their weapons multiple times. The suspects then forcefully held the victim down while taking all of the possessions from his pockets and from his person. The suspects then continued to burglarize and ransack the residence. Before leaving, the suspects beat the victim one last time and threatened him by demanding he vacate his residence and not return until the afternoon of the next day. Coincidentally, the victim stated the female, known to him as Chris, suddenly disappeared a short time after the suspects fled the residence leaving him to care for his wounds alone. Fearing for his life, the 65 – year-old victim left his residence and went into hiding until the next morning.

Around 6:20 a.m., the next day, November 29, 2018, the TPSO responds to a possible burglary in progress at the Friendly Inn in Hammond, LA. Apparently, other occupants of the Friendly Inn heard what appeared to be someone attempting to break into a neighboring room. When deputies arrived, they observed the door to the room in question open with several occupants inside. They also observed one male subject aggressively walking toward them holding an unknown object. Deputies immediately detained the subject, later identified as 28-year-old Jonathon Michael Easley of Robert, LA. Subsequent to a search for officer safety, Easley was taken into custody for possession of illegal narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

As deputies continued to investigate, they entered the room and came in contact with 22 –year-old Brandon Michael Buras of Folsom, LA. and 41-year-old Christina Deangelo of Ponchatoula, (who at the time provided deputies with a false identity). While speaking with Buras, he stated that the room was registered in his name and that Easley attempted to break in the room because he felt that Christina Deangelo had stolen his cell phone. Buras continued to state that even though he didn’t know Deangelo or Easley very well, they were all present in his vehicle when they arrived at the Friendly Inn. At this time, Buras gave deputies permission to search his room, personal belongings, and his vehicle that was parked in front of his hotel room.

A search of Buras's room and vehicle led detectives to the discovery of an array of illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia, an abundance of stolen property, stolen credit cards, identification cards, and even checks from a local bank bared the name of the 65-year-old male who lived on Deluxe Lake Dr. Ironically as the TPSO was in the midst of the investigation into the alleged burglary in progress, detectives were alerted of a reported home invasion that occurred the night before at the residence of a 65 - year-old male who lived on Deluxe Lake Dr. in Hammond. Simultaneously, as detectives remained on scene continuing to investigate the Friendly Inn incident, additional detectives responded to Deluxe Lake Dr. where they met with the victim of the home invasion.
