17-year-old charged in armed robberies; two suspects sought
PRESS RELEASE From the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office:
TICKFAW, LA – (February 6, 2018) - Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the following:

17-year-old armed robbery suspect identified as Christopher Rogers of Tickfaw, LA. is now behind bars after confessing to several area crimes. Late yesterday afternoon, detectives with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Hammond Police Department took Rogers into custody at his residence without incident.

Rogers is accused of committing multiple armed robberies throughout our parish to include the armed robbery that occurred on Jan. 20, 2018, at the Dollar General Store in Natalbany, the attempted armed robbery on Jan. 22, 2018, at the Black Cat Grocery in Independence, and the armed robbery that occurred on Jan, 28, 2018, at the Subway in Hammond, LA. Rogers subsequently confessed to these crimes and additionally disclosed the motive behind his actions to detectives.

Rogers, though not alone in his efforts, hoped to gain enough money or in this case - capital, from these robberies to invest in a narcotics business – illicit marijuana sales.

Rogers is also accused of being in the company of two male subjects during the time the crimes were committed - 1) a get –away-driver; 2) an additional watch-man armed with a gun who remained outside standing guard while the crimes were being committed.
