Duhon breaks ground on new facility in Tangipahoa Parish
PONCHATOULA—Duhon Machinery of Ponchatoula will be the newest addition to Tangipahoa Parish’s growing economy, Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller announced this week.

Miller joined company officials and local leaders in breaking ground this month on a new 12,500 square foot facility for Duhon Machinery, which will open their third location in south Louisiana with a site at the Robert exit of I-12 later this year.

Established in 1969 in St. Rose, Louisiana, Duhon Machinery Co. Inc., is a well-known and respected sales and service location for Bobcat construction equipment. Until now, customers who needed Bobcat equipment, service, or parts had to travel to St. Rose or the company’s other location in the Lafayette area.

“This will be a huge asset in our area, and we’re proud the Duhon family chose Tangipahoa Parish,” Miller said.

The Ponchatoula facility will include an equipment service department, a replacement parts department and a new equipment sales department in addition to their traditional business offices. Foundation work is expected to begin this month, and company officials expect the project to take approximately six months to complete. Company officials estimate they will hire 8-10 employees for the new location during its first year of operations.

“We are looking forward to a growing and successful future at our Duhon Machinery Ponchatoula Dealership,” owner Sidney Duhon said.
