Chamber offers free workshop for startups Tuesday
HAMMOND---The Greater Hammond Chamber and the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University are presenting a free workshop on starting and financing a business at the Chamber office on Tuesday, June 18, from 9 a.m. to noon.
“Our region is full of talented individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit. We are welcome the opportunity to partner with our award-winning SBDC to bring these resources to businesses – and future businesses – in our community,” Greater Hammond Chamber President and CEO Melissa Bordelon said. “We hope people will take advantage of this free local workshop.”
The workshop is open to anyone interested in determining the feasibility of a business idea, planning to start their own business, seeking a small loan and wanting to learn more about business planning and licenses.
“I am proud to co-sponsor this startup workshop with the Chamber. Our staff at Southeastern’s Small Business Development Center has many years’ experience helping others start and expand businesses,” said Bill Joubert, Director of SLU Small Business Development Center. “This workshop deals with many of the issues that both recent startups and those looking to start a business need to know about. Brandy Boudreaux will lead the discussions at this event.”
