Callihan named Chief of Staff at Hood Memorial Hospital
AMITE---Hood Memorial Hospital’s active staff elected Dr. Brian Callihan to serve as Chief of Staff for 2019.
This position is the head of the medical staff, responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the medical staff and promoting effective communication between the medical staff, hospital administration and the Board of Commissioners.
Dr. Brian Callihan, a native of Kentwood, Louisiana, attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge where he received his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, with minors in biology, chemistry, and business administration. He continued his educational journey at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and New Orleans where he received his doctorate degree. Dr. Callihan completed his residency at Tulane-Baton Rouge General Family Medicine Residency Program, Class of 2018.
He is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians (LAFP). His hobbies include sports, volunteering at the Catholic church, and going to the beach. However, his greatest love is spending time with his wife Jamie Vaughn Callihan and their sons, Jude and Reed.
