Spooktacular attractions await at The Party Barn, Hammond
HAMMOND---Ghouls and goblins are in for a spooktacular treat as The Party Barn hosts three thrilling attractions from now through Halloween week.

Heather May, owner of The Party Barn in Hammond, has partnered with the Ranch of Horror to create three unforgettable haunts this Halloween.

May says that from now until Nov. 3, The Party Barn will play host to a Halloween experience like no other with the introduction of their Haze Maze, Zombies on the Bayou, and Zombie Escape.

Haze Maze is a 10X20 maze. May describes that as a great starting point for newbies to this attraction.

Those who dare can try their hand at Zombies on the Bayou, a haunted hayride that will take you through 13 acres of natural frights. If the woods aren’t creepy enough for you, perhaps some of the creatures haunting the hayride will make your heart beat quicker. May said riders can expect intense moments and more than a couple “jump scares” that make this ride a hit!

Of course, for the true Halloween aficionado, Zombie Escape is the ticket at The Party Barn. You’ve heard of "Escape rooms" (The Party Barn is home to three)—now imagine an Escape Town. Willing participants are “dropped off” on Main Street in the small town of Dystopia. Your objective is simple: find the antivirus that was hidden by a doctor in town before he “changed.”

Visitors to Escape Town will face an epic flag-football style zombie battle complete with paintball ammo. While speed is not essential in this game, you will need to keep your wits about you to find the cure, or your brain could become a midnight snack for the zombies. Winners earn a victory ride back to home base where they revel in the bragging rights for saving all of humanity. Losers do the walk of shame back to home base, where bystanders will be watching.

May says Ranch of Horror will deliver a Halloween like no other in Tangipahoa. All three events are open Thursday through Sunday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. from now until Nov. 3. Tickets are available online at

The Party Barn is located at 15587 Club Deluxe Road in Hammond. For more information, call (985) 687-3899 or check out their Facebook page at
