Nominations open until April 30 for Toast of Tangi awards
PONCHATOULA---The Ponchatoula Jaycees are pleased to announce the introduction of the Toast of Tangi service award campaign, established to honor Tangipahoa Parish residents who are making contributions to their community through their time, actions, talents and dedication.

The intent of this program/event is to recognize and honor outstanding citizens in our parish that have made a positive impact in their community. These citizens often give back to the community without ever expecting or receiving anything in return, and this is our chance to give them the recognition they rightfully deserve.

The nomination period is open now and will remain open until April 30th. Nominees can be of any age, but must be Tangipahoa Parish residents. We are looking for individuals who have consistently demonstrated qualities of compassionate volunteerism through service to either one organization or a variety of volunteer activities which impact an individual or the community. The charitable activities or service listed on the application cannot be part of the nominee’s job description or duties, and the individual cannot receive any monetary or personal benefits from their involvement.
The deadline for nomination submissions will be April 30, 2017. Nomination forms can be found on the home page of, as well as on the Toast of Tangi page under the events tab. The website form will be electronically submitted to

Submissions will be voted on by an out-of-state Jaycees chapter to ensure the fidelity of an unbiased selection process.

Honorees will be honored at a formal banquet on July 22, 2017 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Ponchatoula. The awards ceremony will be open to friends, family members, and the public. Additional details about this ceremony will be announced soon.
