Press Release from the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office:

ALBANY---Sheriff Jason Ard confirms that an arrest has been made in an ongoing shooting investigation which began over the weekend in Livingston Parish.

Sheriff Ard says, "My detectives have spoken to witnesses, reviewed surveillance video available from the scene and interviewed the two males who were hit by gunfire. Through our investigation, it has been determined that Jyston Dantzler was the aggressor in this case. He has been processed into the Livingston Parish Detention Center (or LPDC)."

Arrested: Jyston Dantzler, 20, of Albany

Around 1:00a.m. on September 22, 2019, deputies with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a club located in the 30,000 stretch of N. Cafe Line Rd. (Albany) in reference to shots fired.

Sheriff Jason Ard says, ‘Through investigation, we have learned two males suffered from gunshot wounds.  One was hit in the shoulder.  The other was shot in the leg.  Both were transported to local hospitals.  Both were treated & released with non-life threatening injuries.  We do know these two were arguing.  We know that argument escalated into shots being fired between them.’
