Annice Ruth Jones Addison passed peacefully in her sleep at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital on February 16, 2018. She was born July 5, 1937, a lifelong resident of Watson, graduating valedictorian of her class at Live Oak. Annice Ruth graduated from LSU and Southeastern, receiving her Masters and + 30 in Special Education. She began her teaching career in Clarksville, TN, while her husband, Raymond, served in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell, KY. After his service, they moved home to Watson where she taught in the Live Oak school system for 20 years. She was a lifelong member of Live Oak United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday School, serving on numerous boards and committees and singing beautiful alto in the choir for many years. After retirement, Annice Ruth dedicated her life to pursuing her passion for studying God's Word and sharing His Grace. She shared her deep knowledge and understanding of the scripture with her beloved Ladies Bible Study for 27 years. In addition to Bible Study, her greatest joys were spending time with her family and cheering on the LSU Tigers. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Raymond Addison, and her parents, John William and Elouise Underwood Jones. She is survived by her two daughters and their families; Laurie Dauzat and husband, Alvin, granddaughters, Annie, Crystal, and Stacy; daughter, Ramona James, granddaughter, Abbi; sister and brother-in-law, Shelly and Don Strobel; sister-in-law, Laverne Valentine; brother and sister-in-law, Elmus and Ruth Addison; three great-granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Live Oak United Methodist Church, 34890 LA Hwy 16 in Watson from 1:30 p.m. until service at 3:30 p.m., officiated by Dr. Mark Crosby.
