Two arrested for murder of 23-year-old in Ascension

From the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office:
Two people were arrested early Tuesday morning, June 12, in connection with the death of 23-year-old Christopher Goudeau who died at a nearby hospital Tuesday morning.

According to Sheriff Jeff Wiley, deputies responded to a residence on Black Bayou Road in Gonzales at 6:10 a.m. in reference to a shooting. When deputies arrived on scene they located Goudeau suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries.

As detectives began their investigation it was learned that 24-year-old Kirpatrick Morrison and 22-year-old Lauren Donaldson, who were acquaintances of the victim, were at the victim’s residence when an argument turned into a physical altercation. Morrison then shot the victim.

Both Morrison and Donaldson fled the scene but were apprehended a short while later by East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office after they were involved in a traffic accident in Baton Rouge.

Kirpatrick Morrison,of Prairieville, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault.

Lauren Donaldson,of Prairieville, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

Both were transported to the Ascension Parish Jail where no bond has been set yet.

This investigation is ongoing.
